Additional funding for physicians announced via Provider Relief Fund
HHS announced this week that it will begin availing $15 billion in additional funds to eligible physicians via the Provider Relief Fund. The payment to each provider will be at least 2% of reported gross revenue from patient care; the final amount each provider receives will be determined after the data is submitted, including information about the number of Medicaid patients that providers serve.
To be eligible for this funding, health care providers must not have received payments from the $50 billion Provider Relief Fund General Distribution and either have directly billed their state Medicaid/CHIP programs or Medicaid managed care plans for health care-related services between January 1, 2018, to May 31, 2020. Applications are being accepted through this portal, which launched June 10. The portal allows eligible physicians and organizations to report their annual patient revenue data and other necessary information to receive a payment.

The American Institute of CPAs released a spreadsheet for those who received a PPP loan to calculate their potential loan forgiveness.
Revised KDHE guidance for remdesivir
KDHE has issued revised guidance for ordering remdesivir. Orders will now be placed through County Emergency Managers (view county-based contact list). The revised guidance also includes information needed when requesting remdesivir for a patient.
Lab Data Reporting
HHS has issued new guidance that specifies what additional data must be reported by labs along with COVID-19 test results. The guidance standardizes reporting to ensure that public health officials have access to comprehensive and nearly real-time data to inform decision making in their response to COVID-19.
New map of county reopening status
The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is now updating a map to show the status for each county’s reopening plan.
Naloxone availability survey
As part of the State Opioid Response Initiative, information is being collected regarding naloxone availability in Kansas. The survey feedback will be used to identify where shortages exist and where to expand access to naloxone. Access the survey here, which is being conducted by DCCCA, in partnership with the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
