One month away: Register today for Advocacy Day 2023
KMS is partnering with many physician specialty societies to bring a united voice to the state capitol on issues facing medicine in Kansas. Advocacy Day events will include updates from legislative leadership, physician leaders, and other experts on health care issues. The morning’s activities will culminate into a convening of attendees from the KMS Advocacy Day event — along with members of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians and the Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine — for a Physician Day at the Capitol lunch with legislators. Register today to attend and learn how you can get involved!

2023 Legislative session begins January 9
The new year is nearly upon us and, with it, a new legislative session. As your voice in the Statehouse, we are prepared to advocate for the best environmental factors among which Kansas physicians practice medicine, thereby helping to protect and to improve the health of Kansas’s citizens. As the 2023 session progresses, we will keep you apprised of developments and — if, and when, necessary — alert you to timely opportunities to engage your own elected officials, as well as offer suggested approaches to best do so. Any given legislative session can quickly develop in unexpected ways. As your voice in the Statehouse, it is important that we can reach you via modes best suited to your preferences. We encourage you to let us know how we might best do so. This email newsletter will continue to be issued as circumstances warrant. We will also be resuming our podcasts on a more regular basis. You may subscribe here. New episodes will begin shortly after the holidays. In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful, memorable time with your family and other loved ones during these last days of 2022.
